A joint (or sometimes referred to as “neutral”) mental health professional is selected and agreed upon by both parties to facilitate communication between the parties and other collaborative team members. Other responsibilities of a joint mental health professional include assisting the clients and collaborative team members in using effective communication skills, and assisting clients in coordinating parenting plans and improving their future co-parenting relationship.
